The people behind the research

Quantia was established on a single premise: that most analytical disagreement is measurement disagreement, and that identifying which is which is more useful than presenting a confident figure. The two founders came to the practice from adjacent disciplines at Shri Ram College of Commerce, one from economics and one from commerce, and the coverage is split along that line.

Co-founder

Anvi Mansharamani

Anvi leads the housing, agriculture and trade workstreams. Her interest is in the measurement problems that sit underneath policy debate: how a price index is weighted, what a national median conceals, and which cross-country comparisons actually hold once the definitions are lined up. She built the affordability and capacity model, and most of the firm's work on land, food systems and trade incidence runs through her.

Coverage

  • Housing and land economics
  • Agricultural productivity
  • Trade policy and incidence

Co-founder

Swastik Maheshwary

Swastik leads the technology, energy and macro workstreams. He works on the compute buildout as a macroeconomic event rather than a technology story: where the capital lands in the national accounts, what it does to electricity systems, and which parts of the economy end up levered to a spending programme they do not control. He also maintains the firm's forecast evaluation scorecards.

Coverage

  • Compute and data centre economics
  • Energy systems and passthrough
  • Macro forecasting

Begin with the decision, not the figure

The most useful initial brief describes what changes depending on the answer. Given that, we can usually confirm within a day whether the question is answerable from available data.
